Amazing Places
Here we present the most exciting destinations on earth. The world is bigger than you think! Humans` explorations of earth leads to the most amazing adventures. Neither words, photograps nor films do the world`s places justice - they must been seen, heard and touched.

Bendery Fortress, Transnistria, history and imposing walls.

Bendery Fortress, Transnistria - Where empires fought and history endures

Standing on the old ramparts and looking out across the winding Dniester River, it was easy to picture the armies that had once crossed below. Ottoman troops, Russian forces, Moldavian rulers and Cossack warriors all fought for control of this strategic crossing over the centuries.

Orheiul Vechi, Moldova

Where rivers bend and time stands still - Exploring the hidden wonders of Orheiul Vechi, Moldova

My journey into the heart of Moldova’s Orhei region was like a taking a quiet step away from the noise of the modern world. As I left the main roads behind and followed the winding paths through the rolling hills of Vatici, the landscape gradually opened before me. Rising from the lush greenery was the magnificent monastery Mănăstirea Curchi, its elegant domes shining above the trees like something from another era.

Eternity Memorial Complex in Chișinău, Moldova

Eternity Memorial Complex in Chișinău, Moldova - The place pauses to remember

My visit to the Eternity Memorial Complex in Chișinău in July 2026 became more meaningful than I expected. Before arriving, I had read little bit about its history. The monument was built in 1975 to honour Soviet soldiers who died during the Second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive, one of the decisive battles of World War II in this region. But standing there felt very different from reading facts on a page.

Transnistrian Rubles, Tiraspol, Transnistria

Money from a place that officially doesn't exist

One of the strangest moments during my visit to Transnistria came when I wanted to buy something. How was I supposed to pay? The answer was simple: only the Transnistrian ruble. I had to exchange my money at a local bank before I could buy anything.

Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ`s Nativity in Cathedral Park, Chisinau, Moldova.

The light beyond the scars - Reflections from Chișinău's Metropolitan Cathedral

Some places impress with their beauty. Others leave a deeper mark because of the stories they carry. In the heart of the capital Chișinău in Moldova, I found both. Surrounded by the tranquil greenery of Cathedral Park, the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ's Nativity stands as more than an architectural landmark: it is a symbol of resilience, survival, and renewal.

Lenin monument, Tiraspol, Transnistria

Transnistria - My journey through Europe’s forgotten time capsule

Crossing into Transnistria felt less like crossing a border and more like stepping through a doorway into another time. As my car rolled over the Dniester River, the atmosphere seemed to change. The air felt heavier, filled with quiet stories from the past. I had the strange feeling that I was travelling not just to a different place, but decades back in history.

Norway's overlooked WWII landscapes - Islands, forests, bunkers, tunnels and forgotten stories

Most visitors to Norway are familiar with the heavy water sabotage operations or the battles around Narvik. Yet some of the country's most compelling wartime stories lie far from the established tourist trail. On remote islands, deep within forests and beneath old fortresses, traces of the Second World War remain hidden in plain sight.

Stories from remote corners of Norway's Second World War

Across the Norway, forests, fishing villages, mountains and isolated stretches of coastline some of the war's most dramatic episodes unfolded. The country`s wartime history is well-known for the Heavy Water sabotage and the battles around Narvik, but there are more places and stories that rarely feature in guidebooks or documentaries.

On the top of Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Africa

Moonshine on Kilimanjaro - Chasing the edge of the sky

Approaching the top, step for step, through the cold wind and exhaustion. After a while I heard wild shouting ahead of me. Then I felt a deep sense of relief. My friends were cheering, laughing, waving their arms in the thin mountain air. Their enthusiasm cut through my fatigue like sunlight breaking through clouds. I was so drained that I could barely respond, but I had promised myself one thing I should do reaching the summit.

Monumental art on the Three Hills, Old Plovdiv in Bulgaria

Monumental art on the Three Hills, Old Plovdiv in Bulgaria

In Plovdiv, history walked beside me. The Ancient Theatre of Philippopolis stood quietly above the city, a reminder of how far back the story goes. But down in the streets, I felt something more alive. Walls turned into art, and stories appeared where I least expected them.

Church in Famagusta, Northern Cyprus

Northern Cyprus - My journey through Famagusta’s sacred past

Walking through Famagusta District feels like stepping into a paused moment in time. Hidden among ancient streets and open landscapes, abandoned churches and monasteries stand in quiet resilience. These looked like frozen in faith, yet alive with memory.

Ghosts in Cardiff, Wales.

Chasing ghosts in Cardiff after dark

Ventured out in the night in spooky Cardiff, Wales. The city transforms into shadows and folklore after dark, offering a mix of historic hauntings and eerie urban legends. From the ancient stones of Cardiff Castle to other old buildings, the Welsh capital made it a suspense thrill for me going out late.

Lost in white - Finding Hala Sultan Tekke, Laranca in Cyprus

Lost in white - Finding Hala Sultan Tekke, Laranca in Cyprus

Through the mist, Hala Sultan Tekke revealed itself slowly. Its white walls and slender minaret rising like a memory rather than a building. And the same time the salt lake was out of sight. It felt distant, almost unreal, as if the landscape had decided to keep its secrets just out of reach.

The Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Famagusta, Northern Cyprus.

Famagusta, Northern Cyprus – Echoes of the past, life in the present

Between silence and life lies Famagusta. This is a place where history is not hidden in books, but etched into every wall, building and streets. From the ghostly stillness of nearby Varosha to the warm pulse of the Old Town in Famagusta, this is a city of contrasts, resilience, and stories that refuse to fade.

Kourion Theatre, Cyprus

Kourion Theatre, Cyprus - Where applause never fades

The sun painted the Mediterranean in a deep, endless blue as I stepped onto the limestone tiers of Kourion Ancient Theatre. I’ve walked through many ruins before, places that feel frozen, like open-air museums where time has quietly stepped aside. But this place refused to be still. Kourion was alive.
