Rune Gjeldnes is on his way crossing the Arctic Ocean and Antarctica without re-supplies!

2005-11-09
Today it`s his seventh day. Yesterday the Norwegian made 9 kilometres in 7 hours. The sun is shining and the weather is hot - only -3 Celsius and no wind. As he reports, his sledge is still heavy and the terrain is steep, but he keeps the spirit up for walking The Long March.

If successful without re-supplies on his tour, it will be a world distance record, approximately 800 km longer than the previous skiing expedition record.

Follow Rune`s incredible expedition on his website: SEAL Adventure ANS: Extreme Planet - Seal.

On Day 4 (06.11.2005) Rune finally started The Longest March as his expedition is called. The area is steep, and headwind preventing him of using the kites. Rune managed to cover a distance of 5 km, and is very pleased that he at last could start the expedition.
