2006-05-18
Skiing down the world`s highest mountain Mount Everest, must be the biggest venture in the world. The Swedish, Tomas Olsson, is missing on Everest north face, while Norwegian Tormod Granheim has descended to 6500 meter. According to Tomas Olsson`s website and ExplorersWeb, the two skiers began their ski descent around lunch 16 May after a 14 hour hard ascent to the summit. One hour later, they began skiing down the Norton couloir.

Tomas wrote on his website during the planning of the Everest Expedition 2006: I am an adventurer on full time and my goal is to be the first in the world to ski down the northern side of Everest, the world`s highest mountain.

The search for Tomas Olsson are already started by Tormod Granheim and the photographer Fredri Schenholm. They are moving towards the north side.

The two Scandinavians skied successfully down Cho Oyu in 2004. Due to logistical problems their plan to ski down Shisha Pangma the same year failed. Now they are making an attemp on Mount Everest. At the moment the situation is very dramatic!

We are coming up with more reports about the world`s most risky stunt!
