Liverpool Heroes - New book from Ragnhild Lund Ansnes with amazing stories!

2012-05-06
Liverpool Heroes is a unique portrait of what life is really like playing for one of the world's biggest football clubs. Writer and female journalist Ragnhild Lund Ansnes has spent two years getting to know many of the greatest legends who played for the Reds during the past 50 years.

After Ragnhild Lund Ansnes launched her book in April 2012, she has been travelling around in Engand and Norway promoting her book. On Friday 4th May she was in Moss, Norway, together with the former top Liverpool player Alan Kennedy.

It`s amazing how she had been able to get in contact with the Liverpool legends, open their hearts and made them tell freely about their personal life as a football player. I assume it has not been easy for a young, pretty girl from Norway to be taken seriously by the Liverpool players, but with Ansnes impressing proffessional skills she has managed to make the players talk openly more than they ever have done before. That`s what makes this book so interesting. There are stories here that are probably new for most people.

In Ansnes` first book, Liverpool Hearts, she wrote about how following Liverpool FC changed the lives of Norwegian fans and showed what football is doing to its supporters.

Some of the stories in her new book Liverpool Heroes are:

  • David Fairclough talks about how the untimely death of his father affected his Anfield career and how the Reds fans have supported him through the sudden death of his wife
  • Phil Thompson breaks his silence about how a 15 year long disagreement with a team mate and fellow European Cup winning captain was finally healed
  • Phil Neal and Tommy Smith reveal the personal sacrifices they made for Liverpool FC – how their career affected their family and home life
  • More revelations follow from Kevin Keegan, Bruce Grobbelaar, John Barnes, Roy Evans, Alan Kennedy and modern day giants Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard, among others

Liverpool Heroes is a different and revealing football book that will show you a side of the legends you have never seen before.
