The cart ruts are found widespread on the main island Malta and Gozo. South of Malta I found the most impressive site to explore them. As shown on our video clip, they formed here a big traffic jam! The mysterious tracks run in pairs in various directions and criss-cross each other like railway lines. It was strange for me walking in these parallel tracks at Clapham Junction by Busket Gardens, near the Dingli Cliffs in Malta's highland. The tracks have been carved out from soft limestone rocks for over 5000 years ago.

Through the narrow winding streets I walked around in Mdina, the old capital, to look for traces after the Knights. Their traces are found spread around the island, also in the new capital Valetta where I also took my time to find more about them. Perhaps a ghost from the legendary Knights of Malta showed up when I looked curiously around? Ghostbusting in the light of the Knights` history is bloody is really something. It`s said that most of the Mdina ghosts from that period are Turks, one of whom was hung on the city walls every morning during the Great Siege of 1567.

Tomas Olsson's body was discovered yesterday (20 May) at about 6700 meters. The Swedish adventurer was reported to have fallen about 2500 meters. The Sherpa who found him plan to lower the body 300 meters down the face to get him out of an avalanche zone and then transport him out today. Tomas Olsson and his Norwegian friend Tormod Granheim were the first in the history who made an attemp to ski down the north side of Mount Everest. Despite of that the experience extreme skiers took their precautions, the risk was extremely high, and unfortunately someone lost its life.

Archaeologists have started excavation of what they believe might be a pyramid hidden beneath a hill in Bosnia. Semir Osmanagic is in charge of the project to uncover the ancient structure. Known as Visocica, the 650m (2,120ft) triangular mound, overlooking Visoko, has long been shrouded in a local legend. The mentioned Bosnian archaeologist who leads the project, has said it resembles pyramid sites he has studied in Latin America. So far he and his team have revealed a narrow entrance to what could be an underground network of tunnels.

Brazilian archaeologists discovered an amazing stone structure in the state of Amapa, in a remote area, far north of Amazon in Brazil. A total of 127 large blocks of stone were found driven into the ground on top of a hill. The stones were set up in a circle just as Stonehenge in England. The recently found site in Brazil is thought to be around 2000 years old. The stones are well preserved and each weighs several tons. The ancient stone structure may bring new information about the region's past.

This was the day for a relaxing walk. I felt so good just walking around in Mdina soaking up the quite atmosphere and history. All the narrow streets leaded to an new adventure, and there was always a story behind the buildings, walls and corners. Mdina is known as the noble city. It was the original capital of Malta before the arrival of the Knights of St John in the middle ages. It was originally a Phoenician town, but spent periods under Roman, Arabic and Norman occupation. The old town is situated in the centre of Malta at an altitude of 200 metres above sea level. Here I enjoyed the wonderful view of the countryside and coast from its ramparts.

Skiing down the world`s highest mountain Mount Everest, must be the biggest venture in the world. The Swedish, Tomas Olsson, is missing on Everest north face, while Norwegian Tormod Granheim has descended to 6500 meter. According to Tomas Olsson`s website and ExplorersWeb, the two skiers began their ski descent around lunch 16 May after a 14 hour hard ascent to the summit. One hour later, they began skiing down the Norton couloir.

I also took my time to walk about 500 metres away from Hagar Qim to another remarkable temple site, Mnajdra, It's set in a hollow above the southern cliffs and faces the blue sea. In ancient time it`s believed that these two temples were connected with each others. Mnajdra is an evidence of a significant prehistoric civilization that have existed on the island. Also this temple predates the Pyramids of Giza by a millennium, and is filled with mysteries waiting to be solved.
