Party Life
Here we present unique experiences from the wild partylife around the world.

Enjoy the colourful and pulsating carnival in Rio, Brazil - 2006!

2006-01-03
It`s called the biggest party in the world. The Rio Carnival 2006 starts on 25 February and ends 4 days later, so be ready for the big show! During this time the city will explode in joy and music. There are hundreds of street festivities and bands everywhere. Especially be aware of the gigantic party at the sambodrome parade. Nothing compares!

During the Carnival the city will be turned upside down. On the parade route in front of Copacabana beach, dancers on floats in feathered costumes and sequined bikinis are swaying their hips to the drum beat, and fans are cheering them from the sidewalks.

Meet the Cariocas, as locals call themselves, and enjoy their way to have fun, but of course you will meet other Brazilians from around the country.  The Carnival is a four day event that changes dates every year. It begins forty days before the Catholic holiday, Lent. The celebrations start Friday, prior to Ash Wednesday up until the following Tuesday. Ash Wednesday is a day used for recovering from the previous sleepless nights.

Be aware of that Carnival is the peak holiday season in Brazil . Offices and businesses close during the festivities. Since Brazilians take time off and travel, you have to plan your trip well in advance. Bear in mind that you are competing for a hotel room, not only with with Brazilians, but also with tourists from all over the world.
